Perpignan raise funds for former player Parks
30th September 2011
Tonight will see record breaker Richard Parks return to former club Perpignan as a guest of honour and receive a rapturous reception from the French fans as he arrives for a game dedicated to honour the former Flanker.
USA Perpignan take on Agen in front of a packed house and will be raising funds in aid of Richard’s 737 Challenge at the match to help Richard raise funds in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Richard was thrilled to be invited back to club the spent a year at in 2006-07; “I am really excited about returning to the club. I am very grateful and honoured for the support of the Perpignan fans and the club throughout the 737 Challenge. I am looking forward to catching up with some friends and old faces over in France and so grateful that they are helping me raise further funds in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care”.
A bucket collection will be held at the match along with additional fundraising. Richard will also be catching up with French rugby clothing specialists Rugby Division who designed the official 737 Challenge “Ain't no Mountain High Enough” T shirt.
