5th August 2010
Those that have been following Richard Parks’ 737 Challenge will know that last week Richard climbed Pen Y Fan 7 times in 24 hours as a training exercise just weeks ahead of Richard’s final training expedition to Cho Oyu in Tibet before his 737 Challenge kicks off in December.
Richard shared his first climb with single leg amputee Captain Anthony Harris of A Company, 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers who lost his leg this year after the Jackal vehicle he was patrolling in was blown up by an IED in Sangin in May 2009. He was also supported by members from Project Mobility 4x4 charity.
Following Richard and Anthony’s successful summit, Richard then climbed Pen y Fan a further 6 times including 3 summits throughout the night.
